I first saw this book on Amazon about a year ago when I started delving into learning about the Law of Attraction. I finally got around to buying it in December, and just finished it this week, as I’ve been slowly working through the exercises listed as I read.

Unlike a number of self-published, self-help books, this one doesn’t spend 50 pages convincing you that his methods work. No, instead, he dives straight into how to use the methods (the Personal Mastery Plan) and walks you, step by step, through creating a Plan for your own life. 

Remember, I’m a planning freak, and this Plan soothed that part of me. Even before I had the complete Plan (all seven dimensions that Mr. Lodge goes over), I began to see changes in my attitude, my businesses and my personal life. This is not “so much bunk” as so many other planning guides tend towards, but real, honest, working methods towards achieving newer and greater heights.

Yes, unlike most similar length books, it took me almost two months to get through it – however, they’ve been life-altering, mindset-changing months that have set me on a path towards personal, vocational and financial success.

As a serial book reviewer, I’ve read countless books. Very few leave my desk with the words, “Everyone should read this book.” Even fewer leave me wondering how I can incorporate them into my daughter’s education.

Jenn’s Review:

Lately, I’ve been diving really deep, and I mean really deep, into the laws of Attraction and Manifestation; and recently I was invited to an online class about using the lower chakras and sexual energy for manifestation. (If you are utterly lost at this point, I get it – I teach and mentor on these topics over on my other website.) That class piqued my curiosity, and sent me racing to Amazon to see what books I could find on the topic.

This was the first of the books I looked at that I actually bought and read. It’s a diminutive 132 pages, and isn’t well edited (missing punctuation and words abound, and the few graphics seem to be missing from the Kindle edition), but the information is good.

I had planned on reading a chapter a week, as I do with many of my personal development/business development books, but I ended up caught up in this information, and finished it in about 2 days (of 1-1 1/2 hour reading sessions). Contrary to the title, this is not a book all about sex. In fact, she doesn’t spend a lot of time talking about orgasms at all, though she does cover creative energy and manifestation in depth, which led me to a number of “Ah-HA!” moments. [such as the subtle connection between the sexual revolution and the technological revolution…]

If you are a student of the Law of Attraction and the Law of Manifestation, this is a must-read, especially if you are stuck. The in-depth work that the author leads the reader through near the end are of significant benefit toward finding your manifestation blocks.

Jenn’s Review:

Every so often, I go on book buying binges (read – I love finding free Kindle books on Amazon!), and I bought this particular little book several months ago, and sat down with it recently.

The author sets out valid arguments about meditation and its benefits in concise language that is easy to understand. He lays out a solid case in favor of why meditation is so good for you, and briefly talks about different ways to meditate.

However, where I got a little hung up (I’ve been meditation for years, but I don’t profess to know it all, by any means), is his suggested procedure for meditation. If I were a newbie to the idea of meditating, knowing myself, I would never end up on a cushion, getting down to the business of meditation, because… It would take me 3 hours to get through all the set up steps, I’d never find a place totally free of distraction to pull this off, and between starting the process and getting to the actual meditation, I’d have to tend to something else for my family.

In a nutshell, that part of the book, is a little overblown and over-complicated in my opinion (I’ve read and am reading, much better books on meditation and mindfulness where this area is concerned – reviews to come if they aren’t already done).

On the other hand, if you’re debating whether to begin a meditation practice, or whether meditation is right for you, this isn’t a bad book to start with, and the price makes it accessible to everyone (as of this writing, it is still free for both Kindle and audio versions).

This is another of those little books I picked up on a Kindle spree a few years ago, and dusted it off the other day while cleaning out some of my Kindle clutter. (I go on these huge binges of buying, and then… see my blog at Sage Wolfsong for more info on my battle with clutter of all kinds)

I’d heard of Bio Hacking before buying this book, but hadn’t really done much to understand what it was, or how it might be helpful. I could guess at it based on context (all the other “life hacks” out there), but some things get under my skin and pester me until I do something with them.

So, I sat down with this brief book (it’s less than 100 pages) to learn a bit about biohacking. 

Good stuff, really. The author lays out a clear, concise map of what biohacking is, why it’s useful and how to include it in your life. If you want to understand what changes you need to make and why those changes are significant, this is a great place to start – not terribly detailed or technical, a quick, light read with a powerful punch.

And an awesome value!

Disclaimer: I am a productivity nut! I have so much on my plate on any given day, that I am always on the hunt for new ways to streamline my day, so… when I got Zak’s email about this book and his promo (I was able to get the book for free on Amazon for a limited time), I snatched it up and stuck it on my to-read list for a day I couldn’t come up with another book to read.

That out of the way, I had just such an opening not long after purchasing this little gem. And right out of the gate, I fell in love with the premise of this self-help book: Knowing what to do, and doing it, are two completely different concepts.

August of last year, I reviewed Level Up, by the same author, and since that book had a number of useful ideas, I looked forward to diving into this book. 

Mr. Khan’s editing still leaves some to be desired (though this book had fewer glaring mistakes than Level Up), however, the premise of the book, along with the concepts he outlines in Productivity Handbook are spot on.

As a fellow productivity fan, the concepts in this book are mostly things I’m already doing, i.e.: actually doing the work. You can study ideas and suggestions and concepts until the cows come home, but folks, if you don’t put it in gear and DO, you’re never going to get anywhere.

This book is a quick, easy read at just over 100 pages (105 to be exact). I was able to read it in a single afternoon, and in the introduction, Mr. Khan promises to lay out his concepts in easy language that a twelve year old could grasp. As the parent of a twelve year old, I’m very tempted to put him to the test, but for now, I’ll refrain. Sam already has a reading list for reviews that is amazing.

I can vouch for every single one of the ideas laid out in this simple volume. If you are aiming for some big goals this year, you’ll want this at the top of your reading list. As in – get the book now. Read it today. Don’t procrastinate. (Because procrastination gets everyone to the same place: nowhere)
